Located along Marine Drive R27 in a dusty strip opposite the Metro Industrial Park in Paarden Eiland, Milnerton Flea Market is where many vendors gather to sell antiques every weekend for nearly 15 years. The Flea Market was founded by the Milnerton Informal Traders’ Association (MITA) in 1996, with the objective of offering a wide collection of vintage finds to Cape Town residents and visitors. Besides its vast range of antiques and vintage merchandise, you can also find ancient cutlery, crockery, tools, antiques, books, magazines, and some choice furniture items. The open-air market area is surrounded by a safety fence, with entrance gates leading directly from the adjacent parking lots. However, no vehicles or bikes of any sort are allowed into the trading area after 8 am. Most of the food stalls provide seats, while there are also broad walkways allowing easy access for prams and wheelchairs. Trading and all other market-related activities are monitored and supervised by committee officials and designated groundsmen. There is no entrance fee, while the use of the parking facilities is also free of charge.
