[edit] About

Established in June 1981, Akariya Kanarusha is one of the most unique antique stores located in central Tokyo. It provides a wide range of Japanese antiques and works of art to museums, private collectors and antique dealers from around the world. Over here, you can find interesting vintage pieces, such as oil paintings, baskets, bronze souvenirs, colorful textiles, ceramics, cloisonné, kimonos, artworks from end of 19th to early 20th century. Akariya is the name of the parent company and also that of its high-end shop in the Yoyogi area, while this store itself is actually called Kanarusha. The store also has a treasure trove of objects, including tansus of every style and region, unusual golden mizuyas, ikebana baskets, iron lanterns, vintage milk glass fixtures, Art Deco pieces and other miscellaneous items from the 1930s.
