In business for more than 25 years, Antique Room is a fine source of 19th century American and English antique, museum-quality furniture. Stretches across the first floors of three contiguous brownstone buildings in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, the store offers a wide range of monumental American Victorian furniture made between 1820 and 1890. Here, it is most likely to find entire bedroom, dining room, and living room suites, rather then an item or two from a certain set. Antique Room also offers beautiful mantelpieces, chandeliers, mirrors, smaller table lamps, and porcelain. Styles featured: American Antiques Empire Classical American antiques, Rococo antiques, Neo-Grec antiques, Renaissance Revival antiques, Egyptian Revival antiques, Aesthetic Movement antiques. Antique Room also offers a refinishing and reupholstering services.
The store is known for both selling to and buying from actual museum collections. The owner - David Marshall - is a former advertising art director, and has a nearly-encyclopedic knowledge of the styles in which he specializes, most notably, Classical, Gothic Revival, Aesthetic Movement, Rococo, Neo-Grec, Renaissance and Egyptian Revival.
