[edit] About
Established in 1901, Bernard and S. Dean Levy offers fine American antiques from the 17th to the 19th century. Located in a five-story townhouse, just a block east form the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Upper East Side Manhattan, the gallery showcases a wide range of furniture and decorative arts, including paintings by Thomas Birch, Thomas Doughty, and Eastman Johnson, or American and China trade paintings, brass candlesticks, and English and Chinese ceramics. Period furniture is presented by pieces in the Jacobean, William and Mary, Queen Anne, Chippendale, and Federal styles. There are pieces by or attributed to most famous early-American cabinetmakers, including Thomas Affleck, Michael Allison, and John Townsend.
