Located in an abandoned porcelain factory in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Mercantic is an indoor market, at the suburbs of Barcelona that has established itself as the only daily antique market in Spain which offers a wide selection of furniture, antiques and other curiosities. Its 10,000 square-feet space gathers over 80 vendors selling everyday furniture of all ages and styles, as well as services such as craftsmanship, restoration, upholstery and metalwork. This is a great hunting ground for anyone looking for Art Deco or Art Nouveau items, as well as really fine furniture, glass, silver and porcelain. In addition, visitors also get to enjoy amenities such as a playground for children, as well as a music concert organized every weekend from 12.30 pm to 2 pm, with live music, bossa nova, jazz, flamenco and other musical styles. Mercantic was founded by Octavian Barnils, who decided to restore his inherited large but abandoned ceramics factory and enter the antique business more than ten years ago.
