The Mercat Fira de Bellcaire is one of the oldest markets in Europe and dates back to the 14th century. More commonly known as “Mercat dels Encants Vells” (literally “the old charms fair”), the Barcelona's biggest flea market is a treasure trove of “new” and old items which are put up for sale every week. Located in the north of la Plaça Glòries Catalane in the Eixample district, the flea market is open on Saturdays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 am to 6 pm. Covering an area of 15,000 square-foot meters, the market gathers over 500 tradesmen who offer all kinds of second-hand articles, such as used clothing, antique furniture, lighting, furnishings, pictures, sculptures, records, instruments, fabrics, collectables and many more.
