Established in 1989 at Dumbarton Road in Glasgow, The Great Western Auctions is one of Scotland’s premier independent auction houses. On every second Saturday, it runs an antique and collectible auction that comprises jewelry, gold coins, silver, ceramics, porcelain, glass, decorative arts, metal-ware, clocks, barometers, sports memorabilia, medals, stamps, toys, collectors’ items, musical and scientific instruments, works of art, textiles, oil paintings, pencil signed prints, rugs, carpets, 20th century design, Antique, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, etc. In addition, the auction house also holds a quarterly fine art auction that contains over 200 works from the late 19th century, as well as those by contemporary Scottish artists. The Great Western Auctions was established by Anita Manning, a dealer with 20 years of experience in the auction world. She is also a TV personality, who, together with her auction house, has been featured in numerous BBC antique shows.
